VALORIA - about value and appreciation in the clothing industry

Mar 25, 2024

Fashion is an indispensable form of expression for culture, art and personality all over the world. In addition to its role as an economic factor and cultural asset, it is also a central means of communication that a society unconsciously reads before a single word has been spoken verbally. The role of fashion in a business context should therefore not be underestimated, especially for women*. (At VALORIA, the term woman* explicitly includes everyone who describes themselves as a woman.) What we wear sends a message - to those we meet, but also to ourselves. The quality of our clothing should therefore be correspondingly high, and we should give the infrastructure behind it, the craftsmanship and the quality of the raw materials the appreciation they deserve. Or should we?

Why has clothing become a disposable product despite its important role in our society? Why do we buy more and more, at ever cheaper prices, even though we don't wear the clothes we own very often?

VALORIA wants to make us more aware of the value of our clothing: That's why we select our pieces for VALORIA Vintage with the greatest care for our customers. Hand-picked fashion, statement pieces from different decades and unique pieces with that certain something characterize our range. When "treasure hunting" we always keep the material composition in mind, because even for our second-hand goods we prefer natural and natural materials to synthetic goods.

We also pay attention to our social and ecological footprint in our own VALORIA Collection designs: through regional production and close contact with our partners, we make our contribution to the preservation of the textile industry in Austria. We have all VALORIA Collection products manufactured in Austria, thus keeping our transport routes short. By consciously reducing the proportion of synthetics in the textiles used in our designs, we want to help improve the environmental impact of our products. When selecting the raw materials used, we focus on materials of natural origin, and we also use deadstock (leftover items from the textile industry that are destined for disposal). Find out more about our raw material selection here.

With careful handling and proper care, high-quality pieces can be passed on to the next generation. This is our responsible alternative to fast fashion.

Why did you decide to buy your fashion responsibly? What experiences have you had with fast fashion and the alternatives to it? Feel free to share your thoughts with us in the comments!
